Sunscreen should be applied as the last step in your skincare routine before makeup. This is because sunscreen needs to be in direct contact with your skin to be effective, and applying other products on top of it may decrease its effectiveness.

Here’s a suggested order for incorporating sunscreen into your skincare and makeup routine.

• Cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser
• Apply serum, moisturiser or other skin care products you use
• Apply sunscreen as the final step in your skincare routine before applying makeup
• Apply makeup as desired.

If you’re using a chemical sunscreen, it’s best to apply it at least 20 minutes before sun exposure to allow it to get absorbed into your skin. If you’re using physical sunscreen, you can apply it immediately before sun exposure.

Remember to reapply sunscreen every two hours and use enough sunscreen to cover the exposed skin.
