After getting a massage, avoid doing some things for more benefits and staying away from any discomfort or injury.

Keep in Mind the Following

Don’t Eat Heavy Meal

Avoid eating a large, heavy meal immediately after a massage, as it can make you feel bloated and uncomfortable.

Don’t Drink Alcohol

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours after a massage, as you can dehydrate  and worsen your health.

Don’t Engage in Strenuous Activity

Get adequate rest by avoiding exercise or any other physical activity for at least 24 hours after getting massaged. The reason – your muscles would relax, and if you do any physical activity immediately after, you may get injured.

Don’t Take a Hot Shower or Bath

It’s good to wait a few hours before taking a hot shower or bath after a massage, as the heat can exacerbate any soreness or inflammation.

Don’t Rush

Take your time and relax after a massage. Rushing around or stressing out after a massage can negate its soothing effects.
