Removing gel polish at home can be done safely and effectively using the following steps

Gather Your Supplies

You will need acetone, cotton balls or pads, aluminium foil, a nail file and a cuticle pusher.

Emery Board Top Layer of the Gel Polish

Use a nail file to gently file the top layer of the gel polish to break the seal and allow the acetone to penetrate the layer below.

Soak Cotton Balls in Acetone

Soak cotton balls or pads in acetone and place them on each nail.

Wrap Nails With Aluminium Foil

Wrap each finger in aluminium foil to hold the cotton ball in place and prevent evaporation.

Wait for 10-15 Minutes

Allow the acetone-soaked cotton balls to sit on the nails for 10-15 minutes to allow the gel polish to soften and lift.

Remove the Foil and Cotton Balls

Remove the aluminium foil and cotton balls from each nail.

Gently Remove the Gel Polish

Use a cuticle pusher to gently push and scrape the softened gel polish off each nail. Be careful not to scrape too hard and damage your natural nail.

Repeat as Needed

If there is still some gel polish left on your nails, repeat the process until all of the gel polish has been removed.
