When Should You De-tan Your Skin?
The timing of detanning depends on several factors such as the severity of the tan and sunburn, the sensitivity of your skin, and the method used for detanning.
Some General Guidelines
Mild Tan
If you have a mild tan, you can start detanning within a few days of exposure to the sun. If it is sunburn, wait till the situation improves before detanning your skin.
Moderate Tan
This type of tan takes a few weeks to get removed. Once your sunburn is cured, try detanning for several weeks for complete removal of tan.
Severe Tan
Having a severe tan or sunburn? It’s best to wait until the skin has fully healed before attempting de-tan. This may take several weeks, and avoid exposing your skin to the sun during this time.
Sensitivity
Having sensitive skin? Please be gentle when detanning. Use mild products and avoid harsh scrubbing, which can irritate the skin and cause further damage.
Be patient when detanning and take necessary precautions to protect your skin from further damage.
