Prep Your Lips

This is the first step to making your lipstick smudge-proof. Prep your lip using a scrub, gently exfoliate and remove dead cells, and then apply lip balm to hydrate and smoothen them. Let the lip sit for a minute before moving to the next step.

Use a Long-wearing Formula

Choose a long-wearing formula of lipstick designed to stay in place for hours. Liquid lipstick and matte lipsticks are both great options that withstand the friction of the mask. Look for the formula labelled as “transfer-proof” or smudge-proof for maximum staying power.

Apply with Precision

Use a lip liner to outline your lip before applying lipstick. This will create a base for your lipstick to stay in place. Use a brush and apply your lipstick switch precision, and cover the entire space of your lips.

Set with Powder

Take a makeup brush and apply some translucent powder over your lips. This will help set the lipstick and prevent it from smudging or transferring onto your mask.
