What is Face Strobing?
Strobing is a makeup technique used to illuminate the high points of the face. This technique captures the light at the high points of the face – under the eyes, along the nose, across the cheeks, on the cupid’s bow, on the inner corners of the eyes and above the brows. It is specially designed to illuminate your complexion and enhance your natural features.
A strobing makeup look uses glowing products to enhance your features. The main reason behind strobing is to highlight the face and make some high points of the face pop. So, you look extra glowy and chiselled.
How to Strobe?
To strobe your face, correctly follow these steps.
Moisturise Your Face
Before applying any product on your face, don’t forget to apply a moisturiser. It will protect your skin from chemical damage and hydrate it for more glowy makeup.
Apply a Primer
For a smooth makeup look, don’t forget to apply a primer to areas under the eyes, nose, cheekbone and T-zone.
Colour Corrector
If you are dealing with dark spots and under-eye circles, apply a colour corrector. Take a green colour corrector to neutralise redness and a peach colour to cover dark circles.
Apply Foundation
For a makeup look, apply a full-coverage foundation. You can also go with B.B. creams for a medium-coverage foundation look.
Strobe
Once your base is ready, take the best highlighter you have. A highlighter complementary to your skin tone helps bring more shine to your face. Apply it to your cheekbone, inner corner of your eyes, jawline, sides of the nose and cupid’s bow, and blend them perfectly for a strobing makeup look.
